In a complete system, the function of the compressor is to provide the reservoir tank of the airride system with air. It is only activated when the operating pressure in the tank falls below a preset value, and only until maximal pressure has been reached. The various HPS compressors differ in their performance and airflow. A compressor with a higher performance can thus restore the operating pressure in a tank in a shorter time than a smaller model.
